Radiation Therapy Options for Thoracic Cancers
Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)

Concurrent Chemoradiotherapy for Locally Advanced Lung Cancer
For stage III NSCLC, concurrent chemoradiotherapy (platinum-based chemotherapy + radiation) followed by consolidation immunotherapy (durvalumab) is the current standard of care, offering the best chance of long-term disease control for unresectable locally advanced disease.
Neoadjuvant Chemoradiotherapy
For locally advanced esophageal cancer, neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy before surgery (the CROSS regimen) improves R0 resection rates and long-term survival. For selected lung cancer cases, neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy followed by surgery is an emerging approach.
Palliative Radiotherapy
