Renji Hospital (仁济医院), affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, is one of China's oldest and most distinguished Grade 3A comprehensive hospitals. Campus Locations
Renji Hospital operates across two main campuses:
- West Campus (Main) — 160 Pujian Road, Pudong New Area. The primary campus housing most specialist departments including gastroenterology, rheumatology, urology, and nephrology.
- East Campus — 1630 Dongfang Road, Pudong New Area. Houses the reproductive medicine center (IVF) and select specialist departments.
Confirm which campus hosts your required department before booking, as key departments are split between the two campuses.
Essential Patient Information
- Real-name registration is mandatory. Bring the patient's original valid ID (national ID card or passport for foreign nationals). Without it, registration and self-service machines cannot be used.
- Outpatient hours: Morning 08:00–11:30 | Afternoon 13:00–17:00. Select departments operate on weekends.
- Emergency department: Open 24 hours at the West Campus.
- Reproductive medicine patients: IVF and fertility consultations follow a separate booking pathway — contact the reproductive medicine center directly for initial assessment appointments.

1. Official WeChat Public Account (Recommended)
Search and follow 上海交通大学医学院附属仁济医院 on WeChat. Slots open daily at 08:00 for appointments up to 7 days in advance for most departments.
- Open the public account and tap Appointment Booking (预约挂号).
- Tap Add Patient (添加就诊人) and enter the patient's real name and ID number.
- Select the campus, department (e.g., Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Urology, Nephrology), date, and time slot.
- Confirm appointment details and complete booking.
To cancel: Go to My Appointments (我的预约) and cancel before 17:00 the day prior to the appointment.
2. Phone Booking

- Follow-up booking: Your doctor can book your next appointment directly at the end of a consultation.

Key Rules and Tips
Slot Release Schedule
- General outpatient slots open at 08:00 daily for the next 7 days.
- Specialist slots (e.g., gastroenterology, rheumatology) open 7–14 days in advance and are highly competitive.
- Reproductive medicine (IVF) consultations follow a separate scheduling system — contact the center directly for initial assessment.
Tips for High-Demand Specialists
- Complete patient registration setup before the slot release time and log in at exactly 08:00.
- Check for cancellations during 15:00–17:00 daily — re-released slots can be claimed.
- For rheumatology consultations, bring all prior lab results (ANA, anti-dsDNA, RF, CCP), imaging, and treatment history.
- For gastroenterology, bring prior endoscopy reports, biopsy results, and imaging.
Booking Limits and No-Show Policy
- One appointment per patient, per department, per day.
- Cancellations must be made before 17:00 the day prior to the appointment.
- Repeated no-shows may result in temporary booking restrictions across platforms.
Check-In on the Day
- Collect your number at a self-service kiosk or service counter on arrival.
- Sign in at the sign-in machine on your department's floor before your appointment time. Failure to sign in may affect your queue position.
Special Patient Groups
- Foreign nationals: Book via WeChat public account, phone, or in person using your passport.
- First-visit insurance patients: Register at the manual registration window; self-service kiosks may not support all insurance types.

- Register for out-of-city medical care with your home city's insurance authority before traveling.
- Bring your national ID, insurance card, all prior medical records, lab results, and imaging.
- Plan your trip 1–2 weeks in advance and book accommodation near Pudong New Area for both campuses.
