China's Premier Center for Congenital Heart Disease in Children
The Heart Center at Fudan University Children's Hospital (FUCH) is one of China's most distinguished and highest-volume centers for the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart disease (CHD) and acquired heart disease in children, with a national reputation for excellence in pediatric cardiac surgery, interventional cardiology, pediatric electrophysiology, and the management of complex and rare congenital cardiac anomalies. With one of the highest volumes of pediatric cardiac surgery in China, the Heart Center combines outstanding surgical and interventional expertise with a world-class research program and a fully integrated multidisciplinary approach, offering international families access to some of China's most eminent pediatric cardiologists and cardiac surgeons.
For international families with a child diagnosed with congenital heart disease — whether seeking surgical repair, catheter-based intervention, a second opinion on a complex cardiac diagnosis, or expert management of a rare congenital cardiac anomaly — FUCH's Heart Center offers an unparalleled combination of expertise, volume, and research leadership. China Medical Concierge Shanghai (CMCS) provides seamless end-to-end coordination for international families throughout their child's cardiac care journey at FUCH.
About the Heart Center
FUCH's Heart Center is a national key clinical specialty operating dedicated pediatric cardiac surgery wards, a pediatric cardiac intensive care unit (PCICU), pediatric cardiac catheterization laboratories, an echocardiography laboratory, a pediatric electrophysiology laboratory, a fetal cardiology service, and a comprehensive outpatient pediatric cardiology clinic. The Heart Center performs hundreds of pediatric cardiac operations and catheter-based interventions annually, including complex neonatal and infant cardiac surgery.
The Heart Center's fetal cardiology program is a particular strength — providing prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart disease by fetal echocardiography and enabling planned delivery and immediate postnatal cardiac intervention or surgery for fetuses with critical CHD. Faculty members publish regularly in leading pediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery journals including Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation, European Heart Journal, Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, and Pediatric Cardiology.
